Mind Map for Teaching
There are several techniques that can be used in the classroom. A mind map is one of the techniques that can be used to deliver something in an easy-to-understand way. A mind map is a diagram representing tasks, words, concepts, or items linked to and arranged around a central concept.
Using mind maps in the classroom will really helpful. Teacher and students can use it to learn, study, brainstorm, organize, take notes, outline the main points of the course, improve reading and writing skills, and so on. Moreover, teacher can use it to create a lesson plan, organize and manage class project, create a presentation, create discussion templates, create some quizzes and games, and many more.
The most basic technique to create a mind map is just using a pen and paper. You just have to create a central bubble and continue with creating branches. I've made my own mind map. This mind map is explaining about "comparative degree" that fits eight-grade students of Junior High School. This mind map can be used as a media to teach comparative degree with these steps:
1. Students will be shown the mind map in front of the class.
2. Teacher explains about comparative degree through the mind map.
3. Students are asked to do the exercises within the mind map.
4. Students are asked to make their own mind maps.
