Timeline: Easy Way to Present Materials in A Chronological Order
venngage.com |
Reading comprehension is one of the important
skills that must be mastered by students. However, students have to
struggle with this skill. There are a lot of ways to increase students’ reading
comprehension. One of the great ways is by using a timeline. Timeline is a sequence
of events that is ordered based on the date they happen. Learning with
chronological order will help students to understand and recognize patterns in
a series of processes. Instead of using lots of paragraphs in a text, the timeline
provides an easier way to comprehend the text.
Nowadays, the use of a timeline is not only for presenting history but also for presenting other things. Moreover, using timelines in the classroom can make the learning process more attractive. Teachers can show timelines to present the materials, for example, someone’s biography, narrative story, steps to do something, and so on. More, students can create some timelines too to narrate personal experiences, organize some ideas, or illustrate something they have learned.
In this easier era, teachers or students can make timelines using technology. There are lots of websites that provide tools to make digital timelines, for example, Tiki-Toki. Tiki-Toki is an online timeline maker software for creating beautiful interactive timelines.
The first step of making digital timelines in Tiki-Toki is creating an account. Once you're signed up, you can go to the account page to start creating a timeline. After creating a blank timeline, you can press the "Create New Story" button to create some story.
You can try some features on the "Admin" tab. You can create a new story, add some categories, add some pictures, audio, and video, change the background, and so on. In addition, the Tiki-Toki has 2d and 3d timeline view.

I've created a timeline by using Tiki-Toki. The timeline is about the movies that won the Oscar Award or Academy Award for Best Picture. If you want to take a look at my timeline, click here.
